Gala Hernández

Artist, researcher and filmmaker whose work combi- nes interdisciplinary research with the production of film essays, video installations and performances on the new modes of subjectivation specifically produ- ced by computational capitalism. Her work has been shown at DOK Leipzig, Cinéma du Réel, IndieLisboa, the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and the Salon de Montrouge, among others. In 2022, she won the award for best short film at Seminci’s Time of History for her film ‘La Mécanique des fluides’. She participated in Berlinale Talents 2023 and won the Prix de l’œuvre expérimentale 2023 at La Scam. She is a PhD student at Paris 8 University and a co-foun- der of the collective After Social Networks. She is cu- rrently artist-in-residence 2023-2024 at the Académie de France en Espagne - Casa de Velázquez.
